Eu sou fã do Mark Twain, mas não posso concordar minimamente com esta frase. Estas frases parecem-me sempre desculpas cobardes para se passar a vida calminho e tranquilo como uma ovelha. Pessoalmente acho triste alguém querer passar a vida sem se exaltar, mas que há pessoas assim, isso há. Pior ainda, a frase é relativamente vazia: poderia substituir-se a palavra "anger" por outra qualquer e continuaria a fazer sentido (basta tentar com "boredom", "stupidity", ou por absurdo até resulta literalmente com "fat" :P).
ResponderEliminarAdorei o teu texto porque a história nele contida contraria a frase, não sei se propositadamente. Sim, a raiva corrói muito mais o interior de cada um do que o mal que essa pessoa que a sente faz aos outros. Mas e o mal que os outros que os outros fazem, mesmo sem raiva, não corrói muito mais? A raiva não é o princípio do mal: é uma reacção contra um mal já existente.
Eu completaria a frase com "Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured. But no acid is as powerful as the one that fuels anger."
